About the PTHS Project

As our website has 'matured' over the last 18 months, we have been constantly looking at what our core aims and objectives are.

When the website first started back in 2015, our aim was to try and raise enough money, through product-based sales, to develop and build an R&R centre that could be used by members of the Armed Forces and Emergency Services and their families.

However, even though we knew that this would be a tall order when we incepted the project, after around 12 months we came to the realisation & conclusion that raising the vast sums money needed was going to be a very drawn out and protracted affair.

But something that we really enjoyed doing, as the website grew, was sharing funny stories, banter, videos, blogs and images via our network of popular Facebook pages (Emergency Services Humour and Military Humour

Ultimately, the initial idea behind the project was to provide somewhere, via the development of the R&R project, where people could take some time out from the every-day stresses of being in the armed forces or emergency services.

But we feel that making people laugh and smile, via our Facebook pages & our popular eMagazine, S**ts & Giggles, is a much more preferred method of ultimately achieving the same aim; increasing morale, and raising a few smiles!

So, we have now adapted our core mission as follows:

  1. Encourage people to be proud of their service in the military & emergency services
  2. Make people laugh and smile through our various Facebook pages
  3. Raise money for some key charities which serve the armed forces & emergency services

Everyone involved in our website & Facebook pages has either served in the Armed Forces & Emergency Services, or still do. This applies to the team of Admins who run and look after our Facebook Pages.

We feel that this insight and experience is important because it means that we actually understand what our customers want, and, more importantly, what makes them laugh.
